Spare the lives of
mothers-to-be? No, contrary to his touching pleas, that's not why Rep.
Jim Greenwood (R-PA) sought to unscrupulously amend the Partial Birth
Abortion Ban Act. No, his phony amendment was just another attempt by the
pro-abortion activist to scuttle the life-saving legislation.
To him, feigned concern over women possibly requiring the gruesome
abortion to survive was simply strategic skullduggery against a bill he
desperately wanted to defeat. That's what Rep. Greenwood admitted to the Burlington
County Times in a June 12 interview.
The amendment, co-sponsored with Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) was intended to
do either of two things: (1) use connived health exceptions so not one
partial-birth abortion would be prohibited or (2) confuse the bill's
intent and cause it to be dropped.
This is not how Republicans operate! Such deceit in the GOP's name cannot
be tolerated! Your help is needed to let those who play fast and loose
with the Republican name know that a day of reckoning is coming.

Sign the petition below to warn Rep. Greenwood and 22 other so-called
Republican Congressmen, who voted for his phony amendment, to represent their party with honor and integrity.
Demand Greenwood and the four who voted against the ban honor the GOP's
anti-abortion plank and the American public's desire or face the
consequences at election time.
Greenwood's way would have banned partial-birth abortions (PBAs) only
after a fetus is considered -- by an abortionist! -- to be viable outside
of the womb. His amendment was carefully cloaked with health exceptions
that could be construed as anything a doctor claimed, thus allowing PBAs
for any reason. Greenwood's phony ban, if passed, would have made the bill
no ban at all -- exactly his pro-abortion intent.
Fortunately, the House defeated Greenwood's amendment and then passed the
act. The long-awaited success came despite a great deal of misdirection from
Greenwood, a Republican in name only (RINO) who used his deceitful ploy to
lead 17 additional Republicans in opposition to the Partial Birth Abortion
Ban Act. Here's a chart of those who voted with him in favor of the phony
amendment:

Greenwood, chairman of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, is brazen in his
quest to protect the convenient killing of unborn children. He has chided the GOP for standing against abortion: "Our party would be more popular if it didn't take such an extreme position," Greenwood said of the party's pro-life plank. "Some believe we get most of our strength from the right wing of the party. I have always thought it was unfortunate that the party I believe should stand for individual freedom makes a very sharp departure from that philosophy when it comes to interfering with women’s rights."
Yet Greenwood and those Republicans who support abortion on demand care nothing about the rights of unborn children, encouraging millions to be murdered. And he lied about his concern over the so-called plight of mothers-to-be without having medical exceptions to enable abortions. Just a pro-abortion strategy, he winked.
The Republican Party DOES draw its strength from the right source exactly where Greenwood said -- but not from the "right wing." GOP strength comes overwhelmingly from its rank and file membership, not on the right of the political spectrum but from the heart of America. Recent surveys show the overwhelming majority of Americans -- not just Republicans -- are against abortion! The GOP's massive heart beats pro-life!
Elected officials, like Greenwood and the other 17 Republicans, who stoop to such chicanery in attempts to continue abortion at any cost, need to understand that truth. They must bow to the will of their party, to the will of the American people -- or pay a price in the next election.
Stand up for what's right! Let Greenwood and the others know they ventured outside the Republican Party in ethics and politics. Demand they shape up or be shipped out the next time the pro-life American public goes to the voting booth.

To Rep. Jim Greenwood
and 17 Republican Congressmen
who voted for his phony amendment
to the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act:
You promoted and voted for a phony amendment to the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act intended to either (1) use connived health exceptions so not one partial-birth abortion would be prohibited or (2) confuse the bill's intent and cause it to be dropped.
The amendment did not honestly seek to spare the lives of mothers-to-be. Contrary to touching pleas, the phony ploy was just another attempt to scuttle life-saving legislation. To you, Rep. Greenwood, and the 22 other so-called Republicans who voted for your amendment, feigned concern over women possibly needing the gruesome abortion to survive a medical predicament was simply strategic skullduggery.
This is not how Republicans should operate! Such deceit in the GOP's name cannot be tolerated! I want you to know a day of reckoning is coming for those who play fast and loose with the Republican name.
Represent our party with honesty and integrity! Honor the GOP's anti-abortion plank and the American public's desire or face the consequences at election time -- especially the four Congressmen who dared to vote against the act.
You clearly betrayed the faith of Republican voters and stood against the American public. Recent surveys show the overwhelming majority of Americans -- not just Republicans -- are against abortion! Far from being relegated to a "right wing" of extremists, the GOP's massive heart beats pro-life! Can't you see that the extreme view is advocating the murder of countless unborn children on the bloody altar of promiscuous convenience?
If in championing individual freedom, you say nobody should interfere with a woman's rights, then what about the rights of unborn children? To maintain the handy elimination of inconveniences upon demand, you care nothing about millions of human lives being snuffed?
You lie about your concern over mothers-to-be who don't have medical exceptions to enable abortions. Such pro-abortion deceit has no place in the Republican Party.
You talk about the viability of a fetus, and may actually believe what you think and say. But that doesn't change the truth: life begins at conception. To interfere is to kill that life.
Wake up! Open your eyes! Support the will of our party and the will of the American people -- or pay a price in the next election. Because stooping to such transparent deceit demonstrates a lack of character worthy of a Congressman.
You have ventured outside the Republican Party in ethics and politics with this deceitful ploy. Shape up now or be shipped out the next time the pro-life American public goes into the voting booth.
